What it takes to start a Message Board
GR8 job!
A couple of questions:
1. Are you going to be able to bring forward all the content from the S2K part of Honda-Acura.net?
2. Are you going to be able to recoup your costs from the sponsors?

Thanks!
The first answer is no, unfortunately not. This site has nothing to do with HA.net and unlike this site, Chris owns the copyrights to the post. HA.net, will still be a valuable resource especially for tracking down older info but I hope in time that this site will have a very valuable message base of it's own. I backup the system every three hours so I hope we can actually retain that info for a long time to come! Should the server completely self-destruct, and I mean total meltdown, It can be restored fully in less than 45 minutes with the worst case loss of 3 hours of posts. When I said high-availability I meant it. I also have the option of a clustered hot spare but we'll see how the sponsorships go
My policy on content is that it is owned by the posters, not me.
The second answer is I hope so but that is not my main interest right now. I feel it's more important to get the message board done. It could cost the price of a supercharger to run this site but I really enjoy chatting with you all just as much. I do have one sponsor ready to go but I haven't worked out the software for the sponsors yet. I plan to bring them on at the end of the month. Even if sponsorships don't cover it all, every little bit helps. But I do believe the site is capable of sustaining itself and coping with future growth.
Once I get the sponsor's side of the site done, I will go after them but for now it's not a priority.

Hmmm, wonder if that's true???

Well, it may not be, actually. I just remembered that we clicked through an agreement when we registered. That might have passed ownership of our copyrights in our posts to the board operator. I'll check it out once HA is back up.
