Default What is there to do in Wyoming?

So tomorrow I fly out to Cheyenne for a work assignment. I have been told I will be there for 2 to 6 weeks...but fully expect to be there for 2 months. I'll be working long days during the week but should have the weekends free.

I know Yellow Stone is a good 6 hour drive from Cheyenne and I'll probably try and make it there for at least one weekend. If it does drag on for 2 months or more I should be hitting ski season and some good ski resorts are within a few hours drive.

Anyone think of anything else I should be on the lookout for while I'm there?

Thanks

Ski or rent a jeep and drive some mountain trails.

There is a ton of outdoors activities to do in Wyoming. Should be some pretty bitchin mountain biking around there, and like you said, Yellowstone and the ski resorts.

hahaha man i dunno, ive been through there a ton of time and i have to say its the most boring state. im sure if you are there long enough you will learn the fun places to go but as far as not knowing anyone my best suggestion is to take/buy a bike and explore the city, take pictures, go fishing.

From Cheyenne it isn't that far of a drive to Denver or Fort Collins (which is a nice college town thats really expanding). There are lots of four-wheeling trails as well as mountain biking (just as long as you stay on the designated trails). I've heard of lots of place to go mountain climbing around there, it just kind of depends on what you like to do. Outside of all that there isn't much to do lol. If you feel like driving to site seeing there is a ton to see, Yellowstone for sure, The Tetons, Snowy Range and Medicine Bow are some places i'd recommend.

Rocky Mountain National Park is not far away. Easy weekend trip from Cheyenne.

if the rental is worthy do the Poudre canyon west of FortCollins Colorado.

FortCollins and or Denver are not that far away, you are welcome to invite your self to this:
