I heard about this in a radio commercial - www.starregistry.com.

You could name a star after someone and have a gift package sent to them. They claim the star that you name will be stored in the International Star Registry records. I know this gift might sound corny, but I might do this for my cesky sweetie pie.
That would be cool, but they did on the movie A Walk To Remember. I mean I never saw it or anything, um she made me watch it, I mean it was on TV and I was to lazy to find the remote.

Star Registry is a fraud. That place has no authority to name a star for you, no records are kept either. Stars are named by some international astronomy association, not an internet business. Sure, they can give it a name, but so can you. Walk outside point to one and name it, but just like the star registry, it will not be a name officially recognized by anyone else.

This place has been exposed in several articles as a complete fraud. They have also been caught sending out xeroxed star maps with a bunch of stars added that dont exist. But to the average person, they don't know the difference. Save your dough or send it to me.

It is sort of like me setting up and internet business to name a lake in Minnesota after you for just $50. I can send you a map with "Lake Bill" on it if you want, but nobody else is going to call it Lake Bill.

I don't post this to spoil your fun. Some people still like this stuff anywho. I just hate it when people send money to scammers because the world is full of too many scammers.

If I thought the girlfriend would take care of one, I would get her a nice doggie from an animal shelter, and then buy something to show I was not trying to be a cheapskate.
