Hey Chubbie, I bought a 1988 Toyota 4X4 pickup new in 1988 and still have it. Only 65K original miles. Climbed many rocks in the Sierras with it.
My first car was a Bugeye Sprite but it didn't run, so my first running car was a 1958 Dodge. Yeah laugh, but it was the 2nd fastest car in my high school my senior year (had a semi-hemi engine) and it only cost me $100.00!
Mikey, how the hell should I know? I just googled it and there seems to be such a thing, and that's what I was told about 44 years ago when I was driving it around. When my tires got worn out I could burn rubber the entire block. About 360 cubic inches and a push button transmission.
Extremely ugly car, I admit.
Bought the damn thing for 400 bucks off my dad,had a 5 disc cd player that was worth more than the car.Unfortunately I blew the engine trying to get around a semi.

By golly, after looking it up it basically is half a hemisspherical combustion chamber! The quote I read is "shaped like a flat tire" -round all around except for a flat side.
first car i used to drive around was a 1971 mercedes beater. then my first actual car was a used 1987 red civic hatch. most of my cars have been hondas since.
This baby had a motor sourced from Mitsubishi and it drove like a champ. But at 199,197 miles, the brake cylinder in the rear drum brakes was shot. A local shop quoted my old man $800 and he felt it was highway robbery and foolish to pay so much for such an old car.
As I still needed a car and the folks didn't want me to work at the time, his solution to this was brilliant. We sold the Plymouth to Carmax for $200, of which they claimed a $100 processing fee. Dad turned around and found me some sex on wheels. $1500 later, he gave me a 1986 Toyota Camry LE Liftback. For those not in "the know," in '86 Toyota put in a more efficient fuel-injection system. This helped my 2.0 liters of 4 cylinder fury to up the ante from 92 to 95 horsepower. The car came equipped with a 4 speed auto, sunroof, Technics cassette-tape player, a 7-band graphic equalizer, 187,000 miles and a hole in the exhaust that landed me a ticket for being too loud. I could also pull the key out of the ignition while the car kept running.
Needless to say, I got a real job shortly after getting this car so I would never have to suffer my dad's generosity again.
I enjoyed both the cars though. The Colt was reliable as hell but had no working radio... The Camry? I learned how to do handbrake tricks in it...so I'll always have a soft spot for that thing.
