What's behind SUV bashing?

So your one of the guys who thinks he is bad ass going 70 down the Dan Ryan in a blizzard, or down LSD in a torrential downpour.
SUV drivers seem to believe that they are indestructible. This may be true because I am sure I will lose when they hit me, but they should have some courtesy for other cars on the road.
Finally, SUV's suck because in most cases they are bought for wives who want one because a friend got one, (ie keeping up with the Joneses). God forbid I ever drop $40-$50k for a BMW/Merc SUV. And we know things have gotten out of hand when Porsche jumps into the ring with a 400hp SUV.

What a thread! And a long read! I was hanging on every word, found this one yesterday and have read almost all of it! Awesome info and I feel moved to respond.
Greg is one of what I consider a core member of this group, as is Sondra. I have to take issue with the relative power they and certain others have over the operation of this board. That said, somebody has to have the power, can't have any enforcement without it! I sometimes question the open mindedness and wisdom that is very telling evidenced by certain occurrences and changes on this board, and I posted a more specific response to a certain thread and it was promptly deleted! Guess I have to tone my responses down, and I'll do it if it prevents being censored.
Regarding SUV's I love freedom and I want no further DOT rules as far as what people drive and where. I consider all the bad drivers in huge dangerous vehicles a sign of our times. I just drive way more defensively when near them.
Greg and Sondra, although I like the both of you I have seen changes in your demeanors over the last couple years, (just online, never met either one of you) and I'm not sure what to make of it. This board is phenomenal and gained popularity and respect but I question what your membership status has done.
Guess I'll just suck it up and go with the flow, what else can I do??? Actually a lot, but I don't have the motivation! I especially appreciate the raw information and analysis of the many and varied ultra worthy members of this board! And can only wonder who UL really is!
If anyone cares to PM me with details I sure would be grateful.
