What's the big deal about mLife?
So, the Super Bowl ads worked (i'm a sucker for marketing) and I decided to go see what this AT&T mLife thing is. All I can say is, "Big Fuggin Deal". They are basically making a big deal about Text Messaging (oooh, aaaah), voice driven 411, and my favorite, Downloadable Rings! (yipeee). Don't get me wrong, I like the features, but are they really all that interesting that they need a whole campaign with website and Super Bowl ads? Check out the site. It's wonderfully dissapointing.
I agree, very disappointing. They wasted lot's o cash for nuttin. They should leave the wireless to the big boyz like Sprint and Verizon......hehe jk. Actually I thought they were mutual funds when I saw the first commercial....HAAHAH
Future plans for MLife offering through AT&T is supposed to include; "wireless money", "wireless information access" (not internet); broadcast messaging, text messaging, instant messaging (what I'm told is different than text messaging), email retrieval (internet and non-internet based, voice retrieved), "wireless planner/PDA" services, navigation, web-access, home utility access (control washing machine, dryer, climate control, etc.)...........
Basically they will be trying to make moves on turning your wireless phone into a wireless portal for everything technology related in your life that you touch.

Well, as I work for AT&T Wireless, you won't here a whole lot of negativity from me. . .
But I do have one thing for you. . .
It certainly got your attention, did it not?
With wireless becoming an increasingly competitive industry, every wireless company out there is looking for a way to get folks "excited" about wireless communications. Centering wireless around your life is what it's all about now.
Spending time on the phone talking to family and friends far away. The ability to stay in reach and communicate when YOU want! That's what it's all about really!
