What's the fastest way..
What is the quickest way to get a bachelors in finance. I have completed most of my GE's in the first two years college. Didn't have time to continue school, so I dropped out. Now I am wondering if there was a way I can fit school into my busy schedule and get a degree. Quite frankly, I only want "a" degree for the title. I don't plan on pursuing a career with it. I plan on sticking to small businesses and move onto commercial development. I just figured a finance degree couldn't hurt if you plan on making money.
thanks for your input.
I do pretty well for myself IMO, but honestly I'm tired on being judged by friends/family for not having a degree. I'm now 24, and make two or three times the money these people make. I have a financial plan and I'm on track, but I do agree that some education definitely wouldn't hurt.

what's the point? you just want any degree? or a degree from a prestigious university? if you just want any degree and won't use it, might as well order a fake one off of the internet. i dunno if a finance degree from devry is gonna make any friends/family change their minds. seems like you're doing fine as is...
Stop caring what other people think and don't worry about it.
Getting a degree that's remotely worth your effort will have to come from a good school. A degree in art history from a good school is worth a lot more than a degree in finance from devry or any other 2nd rate college.
If you are going to waste/spend YOUR time to impress other people for no other rational reason at least get a degree you'll enjoy getting. Doesn't have to be finance, maybe get one in a field you would like to learn about-say astronomy (most interesting classes I took in college).

I chose finance, because I've always wanted to learn more in finance. I think it would give me some useful background on future investments and for commercial development.
I'm doing okay financially, but the grass in always greener. Sometimes, you just wonder "If I knew more, would I be able to do more?"...
fastest way. Take a ton of classes and knock out all of your requirements for the degree. It's not rocket science. I finished college in 3.5 years. I did summer school. One semester i took 24 hours. I worked my ass off and still graduated magna cum laude.

I never really cared what people think, but now I'm realizing that my education also reflects on my family and my girl friend or future wife. I always did well in school as a kid, and people always had high hopes for me. It's sad, but true that when people hear that you don't have a college degree, they immediately look down on you.

Plus, no matter how things look now, there may be a time where you have to get a 'regular' job working for a firm, even for 1-2 years until you get back on your feet.
Without a college degree, the reality is it is much more difficult. I don't blame the firms, they can't interview everyone and must set basic guidelines. I'd get the degree as "insurance" if I was you. Again, if you want it to be worth something I'd try to get it from as good as school as you possibly can. What's the first question after they ask you what college did you go to? I'll give you a clue, they never ask GPA at social events and most people don't work in the same field as their major.
