Quebec looks like a war zone. What's going on? Any insights from our Canadian members?

 

I caught a fair bit of it on the TV yesterday. It's unbelievabe. I think they are carrying it a bit too far. I mean we are talking about free trade, and if we don't trust the elected politicions enough to hammer out an equatble deal then protesting this is the least of our worries.
I too am curious as to what the Quebec guys have seen on this.

 

I think perhaps a fair number of the protestors are there for the party, trying to recapture the spirit of the anti-war protests of the 60s. I'm sure an equally fair number have no idea exactly what they're protesting against, other than the "big, bad corporations" that want to make their profits at the expense of the enviroment; fifteen minutes of fame and all that. I think it's basically a bunch of B.S.

 

All the troublemakers from the WTO protests in Seattle just got out of jail; we gave 'em all free bus tickets to Quebec .

I live about 2 hours away from Quebec City, and Ted pretty much nailed it.

It's just a bunch of FUC<ING IDIOTS who have nothing better to do. Did anyone see the episode in the "West Wing" where Toby had to meet with a bunch of them?

They complain that the police are being brutal. Hey I would be pretty brutal too if you are throwing all sorts of crap at me. 34 police have been sent to the hospital already.
