where can i get good deals on laptops?

newegg is where i would probably look, but I'd also go to dell.com to get a good reference price before you get serious.

buying the right computer for your needs--not spending money on features, power, and capabilities you won't ever utilize--will generally get you quite a bit farther than just focusing on the lowest relative price or best deal. do you need a good graphics card for what you do? how about a great one? would just an atom processor meet your needs? do you need 2GB of RAM, or 8GB? how important is portability?

Also, keep in mind that XP can only use 3GB of RAM (or 4GB for XP 64). Vista 32 should also be limited to 4GB as it's 32 bit. If you need more RAM than that, you'll need a 64 bit OS (ie Vista 64) that can support more memory.

i would dual boot, and ive looked into it
its just not smooth, and my knowledge while it may be pretty good about computers, just isnt good enough to set up a dual boot system.
and if i have to log into osx via command prompt id be mad, i want a computer that starts up straight to OSX

plus, i can get the macbook and run windows 7 nativly, fairly simply
