Somehow made it work and married after 6 years of dating right before getting sent to Europe (Army). Been happily married for 3 years and have a lovely 1yr old daughter.

Over the phone.....she was working as comptroller for one of my customers. She would cover the phones while the receptionist went to lunch. She had that "voice" and I asked the outside sales guy who called on the account what she looked like. I am a pig, I know. I fully expected to hear a horror story, but he said I wouldn't believe it if he told me. I kept talking her up for several more weeks. We had an open house for all of our customers and she came along and I was absolutely speechless. Somehow I managed to not come off as a total babbling idiot and the rest is history. Our 17th anniversary is next month.
