2260 songs in iTunes
another couple hundred in KazaaLite
Bunch of CD's not worth ripping

It's nice to live in Canada where downloading music isn't illegal

My brother-in-law has a server that's hosting all his MP3s. I think he's in the 20K range. He's got a crapload!

Before the RIAA smackdown, we had a 2T server nearly loaded. . . iTunes didn't exist then. . . so, had no tally idea.

All I know is that some guy had started the server to digitally store (and then move to CD) his Grateful Dead bootleg collection which spanned 25 years of material. Some freak also had the complete works of Mozart on there. . .

FWIW, I'm at 7443 songs at 39GB hi-rate mp3, with about 100 CD's left. Then. . . onto the vinyl transfers.

So long as it can consistently go back to it's logical address space on the storage, iTunes does the job pretty freakin' well. . . free download from Apple.com.

In all fairness, it wasn't mine. . . it was the company's. . . and FWIW, it's a digital storage company. We also had a movie file server for a while too. Moreover, some of those stores were at varying bitrates, and some were in raw .wav form. So. . . I say let's find out who the real music s are, and let's keep this thing rolling.

I believe there was mention of former radio DJ's. . . I got some of my best/worst free CD's when I did college radio.

Oh well, looks like I lost this competition . I only have about 8 gigs of music on my laptop with 1,769 songs currently on there.
