Who here has Cingular cell phone service?
I'm thinking about getting Cingular cell phone service but I need to ask how is it? How reliable is it? How many dropped calls, etc? How does it do in sparcely populated areas like rural and desert areas?
Thanks,

Our company switched to Cingular two years ago. Prior to that we had AT&T. Coverage, at least here in Texas, is much better. Have very few dropped calls or bad connections. I even get a good connection in Laredo which with AT&T had no coverage.
Hope that helps.
Hope that helps.
I've had cingular ever since my first cell phone which was atleast 6 years ago. It has always been great service. Very few dropped calls and I always have service in places where my friends have none. A lot of my freinds have switched from verizon / nextel / sprit to cingular due to have better connections and more areas with service.

compared to verizon, in nyc cingular sucks. in the northeast, especially upstate ny, cingular is horrible.

Cingular sucks, I cant wait for my contract to end so I can Verizon. I'd only take Cingular if it's free, so it's not as bad as Sprint which I would never get. However, paying for Verizon and free Cingular is still something I would have to ponder.
I had T-Mobile, switch to Cingular two years ago, and now just recently switched back to T-Mobile and I'm never leaving T-Mobile again. Being in Miami, coverage for both service providers are good with Cingular having a slight advantage in some areas but I hated Cingular customer service or lack there of and their frequent billing errors. So bad that I couldn't wait for my contract to be up. T-Mobile has good service, better rate plans and far better customer service.
