Default Who plays Ping Pong?!

My work has put in a ping pong table to help our days go by. Anyone here play or know of any good sites for pointers? My backhand needs some work.

I love playing ping pong.... i could beat everyone in my highschool....but that was 17 years ago.

Normally tennis players are good at ping pong......(i was king of tennis at my crappy school).

anyway.... i have not played in a really long time.... i always flicked my wrist when hitting backhands...that way you can put some decent speed on it and topspin....

Beer Pong - Friends of ours had a party and told me they had a ping pong table... i got all excited, dug out my butterfly paddle.....then they put cups out there on the table and we all tried to lob the ball into the cups.....if your cup gets the ball into it, you have to drink your entire beer.........

I thought we were going to play some real ping pong!

Haha Scot's onto it

Dont worry we'd played an extensive tournament earlier but it was getting time to head out so my friend decided to teach us a drinking game.

You place cups at each end of the table in a bowling pin formation and fill each one with a lil skoll of beer. You should also have a full glass of water nearby because you're going to want to wash the ball if it hits the deck otherwise next loser is going to have to chew before they swallow.

Anyway as Scot said you stand at one end and if you lob the ball into your opponents cup they have to skoll that cup. If you miss off the back you skoll two beers and if you hit their hand they skoll two

If played fast its a lotta fun to get people up and in the mood to head out

Hey Drunken_Monk, we do the same here, play ping pong to relieve stress at work....we're even in the midsts of our first company tournament (for a little $$ and a lot of pride).

I grew up with a ping pong table at home although I hadn't played in years before now. I also played a lot of tennis in the past so I think I used the same strokes except with more spin nowadays.

As for the backhand, it's my weakest part of my game as well. If I get around the ball I like to hit a crosscourt topspin backhand, the better wrist flick, the better spin.

When I'm playing defensively, I hit a lot of low slice shots and try to jam the person on the other end...

Maybe I can introduce beer pong to the office instead of ping pong...j/k
