why can't we use the metric system like everyone else in the world?
Royale with cheese LOL, that kills me every time.
Well being from a metric country, I can tell you it has its benifits, but..I still use feet and inches, I have no idea how large a hectre is, but I know what an Acre looks like. I weigh 165 LBS, and have now idea what I way in Kilos. So the way I see it if you want to use metric, go ahead. Whether the rest follow doesn't really matter to much.

See, doesn't that sound like a big sandwich?
Imagine driving on the left side and then as soon as it hits 12 AM, you have a car coming at you. You swerve and then theres another. That would suck.

The trauma of measurement conversion though is nothing compared to what happened to the Swedes in the early 70s. They had to switch overnight from driving on the left side of the road to the right. Can you imagine the chaos and confusion that would cause.

Some folks are right, until you force people to do it, people would just stick to what they are most comfortable with. I have been in States the last 3 years and I am still struggling with the imperial system. I have to mentally calculate(when possible) the conversion everytime to have a clear idea of a situation. I think the metric system is much neater and rationale because it divides the units into 10ths in general.
WestSideBilly,
I have two degrees in engineering and when/if you decide to take the PE most of the problems are in Imperial units. . .
Cdelena,
95 degrees is usually hot here in NY/NJ because its almost always associated with 95% humidity
Mindcore,
We wouldn't have this problem if everyone only ate Big Kahuna Burgers

hmmm..isn't 7 symbolic of perfection, at least biblically. And if it's repeated 3 times, don't mess with it.
