Why do some people take the internet SO SERIOUS?
Well, I've been a member (well I guess I was only a paying member for 2!lol) on this great board for over 6 years now and can't say I've ever had anyone critique my grammar or spelling or just generally be a dick. But I guess all good things come to an end.
Not that you need to care but I guess I'm still entertained at how offended people get from some one they don't know over the internet. Like some one says on the internet "John is gay!" and everyone is going to read it on the internet and say "Oh my gawwwwd! This guy who I have never and will never meet is gay! Look it says it in text right there!"
or how people feel the need to correct people for no damn reason.
example...

Well I'll go ahead and end my rant here. But I guess I have a case of the "Tuesdays" lol.

Not sure why it became such a big deal, but I did agree with the original comment that your statement was difficult to read. I don't think it was necessarily grammatically incorrect, it was just "unclear". I'm sure it made sense in your head because you were typing it as you would say it, but for someone reading it, it's more difficult to understand due to the unexpected use of "Ebay" as a verb and the fact that you placed the word "off" (which I assume is part of the phrase "Ebay off", as in: "auction off") 6 or 7 words after "Ebay" and randomly in between your prepositional and direct objects.
With that said.... yeah, I'm not sure why it got so blown out of proportion. Whatever.

People don't take the internet so serious.
Some, however, do take it so seriously.

And, congratulations for having access to the internet for more than 6 months. You rock. But I'm certain that has nothing to do with the topic at hand, given the fact that we're talking about basic rules of written communication which has been around for thousands of years and is not limited to the confines of the internet.
