Why Microsoft sucks
So now you are a shill for M$
Yeah, they support the product they sold, but they won't sell you a new box, and haven't for years. But that Box you fell for in 1999? It still works. You still pay, they'll still supply.
Don't you think there are people at Google who think they can do a better job of monetizing the data you supply every time you receive an email? Do you really think your cable/satellite company has zero idea what you watch? How do they price ads if they don't know what shows or channels you watch most? Advertisers want to know the size of the audience. Hell, service providers need to know - at the base level - where to spend money on infrastructure and content. Let's not pretend WebTV isn't a contract between a provider and consumer.
Microsoft isn't evil. They operate a very large business that has huge leverage just because of what it is they sell. Not being "evil" isn't a free pass, which is why we have courts and markets and whatever.
Apple isn't run by saints. BMW isn't a non-profit donating sales revenues to charity. Yes, pick and choose where you spend your money, I agree with that. But let's get past "anti-" and start being "pro-" instead. If you have a better idea, let's hear it. If you've got a bitch, tell your dog and get on with life.
Top executives at Hyundai and Kia went to prison for behavior the Korean legal system thought warranted prison several years ago. Where is the link to that outrage? I'm not seeing it. You're going to need a taller horse to get my attention.
