Why would any American go to IRAQ as a citizen right now?

I know it is nice to help others, but you would need to use some common sense about it.

I saw that 5 "volenteers" from america were ambushed and killed yesterday and a few others late last week. I doubt they let them have weapons....... just wouldn't be a risk I would want to take... especially with a family...

One guy was 45, married with 2-3 kids..... he was over there with the military, but went back when he got out.???

I'm sure you could be VERY entreprenurial right now if you had the solid contacts.... I thought I had heard that Bechtel signed some huge deal with the governement to rebuild infrastructure over there... .there's gotta be risk associated with all that too.

Did you see Proof of Life? same thing in Aliens really... someone has to go in there early and terraform... pioneers in territory slated for building/rebuilding. It's just a matter of what risks you are comfortable really.

How many of us woudln't do drastic things for the plots of land that the government awarded pioneers back in the 1800s or so? Can you imagine how much a plot of land in California would be if you just "claimed" it 200 years ago? There's risk associated with terraforming... maybe these people felt they had a bond and it was worth the risk.

I like to be a little entreprenurial but damn..... I wouldn't go over there for anything...... as an american I would stick out fairly easily.... probably have those little red laser sights on my head about 3 minutes after I got off the airplane....

I truely is nice that people go to help, but why create misery for your own family? I think the one guy had kids under 10 years old......

They were baptist missionaries. Some folks believe you go help people in hell holes across the globe because they are less fortunate and god asks you to serve your fellow man. They were not there for profit.

There is another set of people who believe you should kill those folks. I call the second set "douche bags".
