Default Win-a-Ferrari: Closed, No winner.

I just got this message from the win-a-ferrari contest:

*****

Dear Member,

The Win-a-ferrari.com Competition is now closed. Thanks for entering but unfortunatley the required amount of 20,000 Entry Tickets were not sold. As per the competition rules your Entry Tickets costs will be fully refunded within in the next 30 days.

Regards,
Renaissance UK Promotions.

*****

So now I have three questions:

1) Are they really going to refund the money? (I don't really care too much).
2) Did they ever have a Ferrari? (Again, don't care much).
3) How much interest did they make on our money? (Just curious).

Kinda funny, right?

Sunchild,

How much were the tickets?

If they do refund the money (probably be cheque) can you let us know what comapny the cheque comes from?

There is a scam going on (a friend got caught) where people set up companies, get many people to send a very small amount of money, for something that sounds too good to be true. The comapny keeps the money for a while and then refunds it, by cheque, to everyone. Problem is the name of the company making the refund is usually something like "Gay Sex Toys Limited" or "Hardcore Porn Ltd" or things like that. A large percentage of the people won't bank the cheque because it is a small amount of money and they are embarrased about the name of the company on the cheque......

Hey presto, no laws broken (well, no blatant ones anyway) and the company ends up with a good few thousand dollars in the bank for nothing!!!!!!
