Problem is that I ran IE at a reduced window size so I could surf whilst watching a DVD and now whenever I open up a link it is at the reduced size so I have to maximise it. I changed the properties so that it would run maximmised but that only rectified the problem for when I launch from the desktop not links and its bugging me.
Can anyone help me out on this one please?

(1)Maximize IE, then go to the File menu and select Close. Hitting the "X" doesn't save your window placement settings...
(2)...if that doesn't work too well, resize the window until it looks maximized, then do the file/close... then repeat step (1)
(3) If that still doesn't work, go into regedit and browse to
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain
scroll down on the right side and find Window_Placement and delete it. Then repeat step (1)

Yeah tried it again just now and same problem.
I opened a link by right-click, open in new window and it opens at the reduced window. Then I maximised it and held down shift and clicked on the close button (X) Then I tested it again by right-clck open in new window and same problem.
BTW forgot to mention but Im using Windows XP.

Ive done that viper but as I stated in the first post that only rectified the problem for when I launch the browser from the desktop. My problem is restricted to when I open a link in a new window through the active browser.
You may be having trouble because IE doesn't open new links in a maximised window. Launching IE from its shortcut WILL start it maximised, though, if that's how you left it. This sounds like what's happing to you and may be the cause of some confusion.
Try this out:
* Start IE (I'm guessing it'll start up maximised)
* Click the Restore button and drag/position the window as you see fit - don't maximise it!
* Close IE to save those settings
Now start IE again and maximise the window if you prefer. Browse to your favourite Web site and (hopefully) enjoy!
