Default Wireless Router question...

Purchased Netgear WNR 3500 from Bestbuy after my old router became kaputt.

Popped in the installation CD in my PC and bam!...."Operating System unrecognized" or something to that effect. Apparently, the CD itself only supports XP, Vista 32-bit machines (mine is Vista 64-bit). But I need this CD to guide me through the initial set up, don't I (security etc.)?

Anyone with Vista 64-bit machines who use wireless routers similar to this one? Is there a way to complete the setup without the CD to guide me?

I have a cable going into my modem, which is connected to the wireless router, from which an ethernet cable connects to my PC. Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

You don't need all that install CD nonsense. I'm assuming you'll just need to do the usual wireless and access hardening. This should get you started: http://forum1.netgear.com/showthread.php?t=1345

yes, you do not need that cd bullshit, just hook everything up and type in the IP address to get into the router and set up you security features there.

Type 192.168.1.1 into your address bar in your browser and you should get a user/password prompt, default is admin/admin(please make sure you change these...

Since it seems like a broadcom unit, maybe a tomato hack will help get some functionality...
