I got mine pulled last summer. I'm young so they healed in about 3-4 days. The bottom ones are the ones that hurt, and the top are the easy ones for me. Just depends on how crooked the root is below. The straighter the easier to pull. I recommend that they put you to sleep.

Top came out in like 10 min... no pain, quick heal.

Bottom: OMG.. I was brutalized. 15 shots of novicane (or whatever they use)..still felt everything. Pealed the gum open, yanked on it for 35-40min..cut it into 4 pieces... yanked again for 20more min, still in pain.. Told the f**ker to just pull the bitch out.

Big bruses on my face/jaw, pain for 2.5 weeks, pain killers, etc... TOTALLY JACKED me up bad. The novicane crap caused a big bubble that took 1.5months to go away (it built up, etc..) had to 'push' it out of my skin over time, tasted like crap.

.... GO TO SLEEP for the bottom ones!

about 5% of us have room for them. get a professional opinion, and keep in mind that by the time they hurt or give you trouble, they have already caused mucho damage (an ounce of prevention.......)
also, consult an oral surgeon

I looked like a chipmunk after mine were pulled. No problems with pain that Vicodin didn't take car of. The lidocaine injections sting though. Overall it was worth it.

Dentist's already freak me out. The idea that I need to have 4 teeth removed freaks me out even more. I'm not looking forward to whenever I get mine.

You need to go to one of those "sedation" dentists. But for wisdom teeth, your dentist may not necessarily work on them for you. He'll possibly send you to an orthodontist. Darned if I know what the difference it.
