The adult body mass for this species ranges from 6.0 to 11.4 kilograms. The pelage of this species is black with white on the sides of the face, on the throat, and on the tip of the tail. The infants are born all white and start turning color at about 3 months. This species has a sacculated stomach to assist in the breakdown of cellulose.
RANGE:
The Angolan black-and-white colobus monkey is found in the countries of Angola, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zaire, and Zambia. This species is found in a variety of habitat types including: gallery, montane, lowland, and alpine bamboo forests, savannas, and swamp lands.
