Women drive me nuts...
I was introduced to this girl last week. We talked on the phone, we agreed that we were connecting and decided to meet, based on personality. So, we met, we both seemed to hit it off. On Sunday, she called me and wanted to go watch a movie with me. Just the TWO of us. I saw that as a good sign. Then yesterday, the friend that introduced me to 'Jane' asked me "Are you taking this seriously?" Confused, I replied back "What the hell are you talking about?" The friend then said, "Well, 'Jane' doesn't want to rush into things like she did with her ex-bf and wants to be friends first."
Now, I know from past experience in my life and my friends that when a girls blurts out the world "friends" then it's really her saying "see ya loser".

Be careful not to assume too much. It sounds like she may have got the impression that you want more and it might just be scaring her a bit even if you don't think you are doing it. I would just back off a bit and let things flow. You never know what might come out of it.
But it was your old friend who said the "F" word, not your new girlfriend! Your old friend may not know what the new girlfriend is really thinking about you. If she called you, that's a good sign, so don't assume the worst.
I don't think you have anything to worry about. She just doesn't want to jump into anything too quickly, which may be a good sign that's she's interested in something long term with you.
I would wait it out if you really do feel something for her.
