I know very little about this game called cricket, but it seems Australia kicks everyones ass. Like they do in all sports, they would heve to be the greatest sporting Nation on earth.

Rugby
Rugby League
Cricket
Tennis
Swimming

You name they are the best.

well in tennis, they have one amazing player, but in soccer they are no good, in basket ball they are no good, in baseball no good etc...

on another note INDIA 292/6 !!!! AND SRI LANKA IS ALREADY 3/2, things look bad for the lankans!!

I have in-laws in Calcutta and have been there for two World Cups. You can see the lights of the Eden Gardens stadium from the roof of their house.
I attended a match during an India-Australia test series. The guys in the far end of the stadium had mirrors to shine in the Aussie batsmens' eyes -- not too sporting! We left when people started chucking plastic water bottles at each other.
Interesting experience!

We English have got used to losing to the Aussies at most things (esp cricket, in recent years) but thought that we would always be able to show them a few tricks when it comes to football.

Alas, the Aussies hadn't seen the script. They played England here in the UK last month and beat us 3-0. We'll never be able to live that one down....... It's like Mexico beating the US at baseball (OK, I know you don't have a national team, but I'm sure you get the idea.......)

Althought to be fair to the Aussies, most of their players who play for the national side now play in the top European leagues anyway, so gone are they days when they just couldn't compete with the likes of England, France, Germany, Italy etc

And as for cricket, don't get me started on the World Cup. England's chances of qualifying were slim enough after they refused to play in Zimbabwe because of death threats to the players, with the result that Zimbabwe automatically got all four points. And then throwing it away against Australia so spectacularly

Oh well - there's always the next one in 2007!!

Why the hell does Sri Lanka win the toss and send India in to bat first?!?!?!?!

They might as well not turn up in the first place if they [i]wanted[i] to loose!

Tendulkar is in sensational form though.

yeah i was wondering about that decision as well, maybe jayiasuria really thought that they could get sachin out quickly like the kenyans did, or it could be that he wanted to have his arm heal as much as possible before he had to bat, but you have to say srinath, nehra and khan were unstoppable!! the sri lankan batsmen fell like flies, to bad the unofficial commentary online messed up after 40mins because i then had to get updates by text

Jesting aside, I think Australia will take it again.

I think Pakistans world cup can be best described by Inzimam Ul Haq's batting performance. I think he averaged 3 for the series.

As usual the bowling was good but they didn't put in any decent batting performances other than Shoib's one great innings.
