I take it we are looking directly at the North pole in that shot. In that case check out how empty the whole middle of Russia is. Especially when compared with Eastern Europe and the US.

Wow, seems like the sun would be shining somewhere?
Also, maybe TrojanHorse could add his opinion on how useful a polar orbit sattelite is????????

Cool effect, but, I think it's just a nice job in Photoshop!

I just don't see how you can see city lights form outer space..
