I think it's mostly the fact that the people more experienced with computers tend to not mind the 1/2 second for the extra keystrokes, while the older/dumber people have to think harder about typing and avoid as many keystrokes as possible.
I'm very experienced with computers and I do mind the extra 1/2 second it takes to type out an entire word - but I will still take the extra time to type out the entire word because I don't want the person I'm texting to think I'm an idiot.

With the exception of close friends - I abbreviate when I communicate with them because I'm not trying to impress them - I'm only trying to communicate a message efficiently (yes, it is efficient if it takes less keystrokes and is still readable).

Anyway the OP didn't use any abbreviations. I think Billyjimbob was referring to the OP's bad grammar/punctuation/spelling etc...

To the OP sorry your thread got derailed and sorry about your bad luck. Hopefully insurance will take care of you. Insurance fraud is the main reason we all have to pay such ridiculous rates. Be an honest person, not a douchebag.

as long as you have reciepts for the AP2 parts to prove they were upgraded, your insurance company should honor your reciepts and replace the parts that were damaged back to orginal condition......

If you want your mods to be covered don't you have to notify your insurance company when you do the mods, so they can appraise it and adjust your rates? Presumably AP2 parts are more expensive than AP1 parts so insurance would have to adjust his rates to cover more expensive parts? I'm not sure that's how it works but that would make sense to me...

I really like the new poor grammar intolerant S2ki. It used to be that language appreciation would be bashed because it's teh internetz. I actually take the time to backspace and correct mispellings when I text message people.

we can squash the whole txt shorthand debate very easily. If you are reading a txt, sms or other short form of communication, EXPECT txt shorthand.....LOL seems easy right.

If you want to look like an idiot, continue to use txt shorthand everywhere you type...it will let people know instantly how much time you wish to invest in your communication with that person...personality and comprehension be damned!! I care enough about you as a person to invest as little time as possible in communicating with you.....If you want to seem especially rude and superficial, use as many cutting edge acronyms and phrases to make sure that only those that are up to the same second as you on FB and uhoh! are not utterly confused...

Especially when you have a full keyboard (on a computer or phone, regardless) and you cant muster the extra energy to type you.
