No it wouldn't, everyone already knows how the Chinese government is a big international rascal that goes around and force everyone to think like they do.

 

Wow that could cause WWIII. We'd have a hard time staying out of that situation. If I ever saw a conflict boiling in Taiwan and I lived on the west coast I'd move my ass to Florida the next day.

Taiwan declaring independence would cause WWIII... Taiwan giving themselves to China will cause NOTHING.

 

Taiwan declaring independence = China getting pissed = activating their long time (not so secret) plan:

China works with N. Korea and cause an "incident" to keep the 7th fleet and all the US personnel in Korea & Japan locked up up north...

and now Iraq and Afghanistan keeps our troops busy...
