"Would you like a bag, sir?"
How many people are sick and tired of this when the answer is so obvious. Of course I want a bag!!! Do I look like some Congo bush tribesman that will carry my goods I just purchased on top of my head? Give me the godamn bag!!!
maybe some people don't want a bag?
I worked at wawa (like a 7-11 but with a deli) and it seemed half of people wanted bags, the other half didn't. I've had people flip on me when I've asked them if they want a bag, b/c they just don't, or b/c they're going to be consuming or using whatever they just bought right away.
for a gallon of milk, some people think a bag is a waste b/c of the handle, while others want the bag b/c of condensation issues. people are finnicky.

Why do check out clerks in supermarkets always assume you want plastic. Plastic takes 1,000 years to biodegrade in a landfill. I always ask for double paper. Paper bags are exactly the right size to recycle newspaper.

Hence why I put obvious in my post. Of course something like chapstick should not require a bag. However for this example, and this is a real scenario, 4 speakers for a computer, and componenent jacks and wires....should be pretty friggin' obvious I need a bag, wouldn't you agree?
