Would you pay $1500 to save $3k a year.?
I really don't like working (who does?), so i concocked a plan where I would offer tax saving advice to people for $1500 which would most likely be about 1/2 of their first year tax savings, then they would save $3k per year from their on out.....
CPA rules say you cannot bill based on tax savings %, so it would be a flat fee.
It is fairly easy to show non-tax people how to legally save big $, but i am not sure how willing someone would be to pay me $1500 for 10 minutes of time.? how would i get them into a legally binding agreement?
Thanks --- Scot

The business side of it I don't know, but I will support your claim, that with the right knowledge you can save a whole lot of money. My friend and wonder boy of an accountant does my returns and I pay about 4% in a 60% bracket. Legal ofcourse. Needless to say when he calls and asks to help him move furntiure, I don't bitch about it
Scot, tell you what I'm going to do for you. Give me the advice for free and if it works. I will be your testimonial, that way people will be more willing to give you the money since you have proven it works.
It's a win - win situation for the both of us.

hehe... there are only tricks for a certain type of tax payer/ business owner.... lots of mom & pop businesses have done things the exact same way for the past 30 years, not realizing anything new that has changed!
Probably cannot help the guy who is an employee..... but the average self employed person ---GOLD MINE.
how big is that dog now?

Why not offer the service for considerably less than half the savings, and increase your client base. I'd rather have 100 clients@$500 than 10@$1500.00. If this is a "cookie-cutter" solution it wouldn't be long before everyone knew the secret to the tax savings you offer anyway.
I don't want any clients.... i just want to offer the advice, and have them go find some other dorky cpa to actually do the tax returns, etc..... i hate doing pencil work!
