Meh, WTH, I'm bored before I go into practice - might as well share what technique they where using to grow. Force flowering 101 :
Weed won't flower (grow buds) until it hits a light cycle of 12/12. Meaning 12 hours of light, followed by 12 hours of COMPLETE darkness. Alot of growers will run a 18/6 (or even more light, if you can dissipate the heat) to grow a big fanned out plant, then go 12/12 to flower it. This will also typically take 90-120+ days to complete a 'cycle'. Although impressive looking, it is not the most 'efficient' way to grow - You end up with alot of smaller buds along the bottom 1/2 of the plant, and they generally are not as dense or potent as the buds near the top. The lack of ample light has alot to do with it.
Now with the 'sea of green' (quoted from a book tittle) you start off with a set of clones. This is any good cut branch (with one of the leaves at one end) from a female plant. (males wont flower, they grow pollen sacks and pollinate the females - viola seeds, /ack) Get the clone in the proper material (rooting gel etc) and run it on a light load (watt wise) but long duration to get them started, like a 22/2 or even a strait up 24/0. As soon as the clone starts roots, and can stand upright (even if only a few inches tall), move it to the 12/12 cycle area. This makes the plant flower from day one under the big lights. The result is typically one huge, long dense bud. You can also grow 1 plant per square foot using this method. If you want to get fancy, about 20/30 days into the cycle you can 'top' them. This is done by carefully cutting the main stem (think trunk) into a V at the top. It will now flower two giant stalks - It may require some ties to keep it upright toward the end of the cycle. If done properly you could take a harvest every 30/45-60 days depending on how you stager your clones coming into the flowering room.
Back in my College days (yeah all 8 years ago
) it worked well in my closet. I would love to still grow but the risk/reward is just not worth it. Even for a small personal operation, which is all I ever did. For the couple years I did it in college, it was a fun hobby. Funny this post was made, just the other day when I was cleaning up some old crap out of some old boxes - I came across some polaroids of the colas hanging to dry, good times.

So my question again is, how did he get that built so as to not to raise any red flags.

Any payment you make over $10,000 gets reported to the IRS unless the people you are doing business with are corrupt.
