I was recently in the Philippines and I would guess that some of the kids smoking were only 10. Kids walking around the streets selling cigarettes and other kids buying off of them by the piece with what little money they have.

screw smoking... it can do nothing good for you... DRINK! its good for your health! one serving of alcohol per day decreases the chance of cardiovascular problems!

 

Reminds me of my 3-month internship in Tokyo. Don't know if it's still the way it goes there but you can smoke in McDonald's (there's a smoking section) and other fast food joints.

Also, during my last trip to China, we were squeezed in this cab (a tiny Dihatsu) with a chain-smoking driver. My eyes were burning...

I'd say they need more education about the danger of smoking. Then again, a lot of doctors/nurses I know also smoke. What gives?
