i work in tv....you won't starve....trust me.

it's very lucrative....head writers can make upwards of $2,000,000 for being the head writer on a 26 episode series.

hell, even a junior story editor can make $250,000....easy.

TV/film is more about writing than directing and acting....you learn the value of these guys pretty quickly when you're in the biz.
The trick lies in getting connected.

I know one of the junior writers for "10 Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter," and he did make money. However, he had to bust his a$$ to get his foot in the door in Hokeywood.

Now, he's writing a screenplay and trying to get pick-up work here and there (he's got a script under consideration with The Simpsons).

Once you're in, you're in. But it can be feast-or-famine. Just plan (and play the networking game) wisely.

Exactly!

Who you know is a big part of it..

I know a guy that works in TV, do you think he ever offered to have me write the theme song for something? NOOO

I have to sell my songs to starving indie movie geeks.

English degree? <Mr T voice on> I pity the fool.

I got one of those but my B.S. Chemistry degree started my career. So I'm a tech type who communicates very very well. There are not many of us so we're valuable.
