Red face Wrongful Termination

Has anyone here ever been involved in a wrongful termination case?

Any advice?

My story:

I am in property management. I had an employee that I caught steeling from the company back in April. He was terminated after a full investigation. I was cleared of any wrongdoing. During the course of the investigation 2 of the home office employees did some things I felt were very unethical. 1. They asked me to exagerate the ammount of money taken. 2. They asked me to point the finger at my boss for not keeping a closer eye on the financial statements and daily activity on property. 3. They blocked the transfer of internal candidates to positions I had open on my properties in order to make me work short staffed in the hope that I would become discouraged and quit.

Since April I had been promoted and given a favorable annual review as well as asked to sit on the management committee for my region. I as well as local management kept trying to get the home office to deal with my accusations, but the home office kept telling me they were going to deal with it soon. It never happened! When the final report surfaced regarding the missing money, the person that put it together had quotes I had supposedly given that were entirely false. My boss even let home office know that I had never said the things quated during a conference call I was involved in.

After formaly asking the home office to change the report and questioning why so many months had passed without my accusations going unchecked they terminated my employment.

Any help would be appreciated from those that have had similar experiences or legal knowledge in this area.

Thanks

First of all, what was their reason for termination??
Have you kept documentation of all this?
I had a similar situation happen to me, they decided to suspend me with pay pending the outcome...said 3 days and they would reinstate me...investigation turned up nothing had happened.. so I waited.. waited... waited... 3 WEEKS later, HR informed me that I was terminated ( 3 days before christmas) I asked for basis of their decision, they refused to give proof... had none...all fabricated...got involved in class action suit,,,, after 5 years,,, recieved 9.2 million.. of course that was divided among 3,000 plantiffs! still waiting for my final check 9 years later...

This is a legal dispute, consult an attorney.

Write a complaint on your behalf to the Dept of Licensing in your Jurisdiction or State, the director will implement the disciplinary actions imposed on the broker / and other licensees.

You have no legal basis right now as this will go to trial. You'll obviously have to pursue this.

3 words:

DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT.

write everything down. chronologies, who said what to whom, when and where.

and of course get an attorney. but human nature states that you will finally remember a crucial bit of information 2 hours too late for it to be of any good. so write down everything.

and get an attorney. ask the people in your regional forum for an attorney they can recommend.

I have plenty of documentation...I have been keeping a journal and docs since it all began 8 months ago!

As for there reason...After promoting me and then placing me on their management committee and giving me a favorable annual review, they decided that they "no longer had confidence in my abilities."

In my opinion, it was obviously retaliation for pushing the issues I had complained about in prior months.

As for being an "at will" or "right to work state", well...those things don't protect an employer if they have harrassed, created a hostile work environment or wrongfully terminated someone.
