Hey mingster,

that thing was going to be my kid hauler, but...... for some reason it really isn't all that fast. Subaru makes a big deal to say it has better HP to weight than the S4, but... it is way slower.

0-100mph in 17seconds is 3 seconds slower than the s2000. I will stick with my $16k Typhoon that is way more rare and cooler, than blow $25k on a WRX for now.

These cars are very very quick and a lot of fun, wait till you see a few on the US roads and you have a fun time keeping up with them.

Here is a quote from http://www.racingjamaica.com/page6arch5.html

"......, a factory stock Impreza WRX which suprised even the owner by qualifying at 13.5secs with full interior including spare tyre in the trunk,...."

Totaly stock WRX, put an exhaust or larger intercooler and those times drop fairly quickly.

Guys, THESE CARS ARE VERY QUICK!

Guys... if you're considering this car, WAIT and get the STi.

280hp, 0-60 in 5.3, etc etc...

Personally I'd take it's competitor, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI (now VII).

BradDonc- The "new age" subaru has bloated itself to over 3000 lbs, and the USA model will only have the 227 hp. This is not the same car you are speaking of (2700lbs and 280hp) that has been in Japan and the UK for the past 5 years.

I don't know how the USA model is geared, but the Japanese 250+ hp versions are running the
