The new 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX STI will be sold in Australia from December for AUD$55k (USD$27k). An S2000 is now over 75k (USD$37k).

For that you get:

forged pistons
sodium filled exhaust valves
variable valve timing
roller bearing turbo
intercooler water spray
huge Brembo brakes
6 speed transmission
LSD front and rear
inverted strut suspension
aluminium bonnet (hood)
HID lights
leather seats (likely)
17 inch wheels with 45 series rubber
cruise control
climate control
keypad alarm and immobiliser
CD player

... and an ugly car (some would say)

For that money I think my MY00 WRX is on borrowed time. I start saving now!

1. Conducts heat away evenly and quickly.
2. Lighter.

I so wish this car comes to the US....if it does I'll be getting it...(just need to convince my fiance first)

I, for one, really like the styling of the WRX. I guess after reading up on it and following its development for so long it grows on you.

Yea......the Subaru WRX Sti, reallie doesn't look that bad.

I just don't like the hood, nor the rims.

Notice that the car already has undergone a facelift. The neon-esque headlights have been discontinued. Projector beams are now standard across the board in Japan. HID's still optional.

Also notice the more Legacy like front grille. Much better than the current three piece ill-fitting job we get.

Personally, I like the WRX STi Prodrive Style the best.

oh, and dont forget, damn near uninsurable. well nearly. this is the case especially if u live in sydney, i believe it will be up over $2500. the liberty b4 is certainly that high. have u seen the premiums on the mitsu evo 6.
but i assume if u have rating 1 and all the security measures then maybe it will be a little less, will the oz version have that microdots technology?
