Wtb: Itr?
ITR is an amazing car ! I was either getting that or my S2000, problem is that they get stolen OFTEN. I worry enough as it is and I don't need extra things to worry about. I spent a good amount of time on the Type R forum of Honda-Tech and every other day someone is getting their R stolen.
i am lazy.... but I was pretty sure that Neal Sapp who races in the same division as the "realtime" type R's is racing a 3 series car but it is not a M3.??? I have seen the Red M3 in the faster series which includes peter cunningham (nsx), but I don't recall any M3's in the slower league.
when i get some time I will research more.... comparing all out race cars isn't very valid though. the S2000 is lightyears more fun in my opinion than the type r was.... (i did own them both at the same time to compare also, in case you were wondering)..
around summit Point, a lowered modified yellow type R was running slicks and lap times of about 1:33... which is exactly what my dead stock S2000 does.
(the guy driving seemed to know how to drive it also)

If you want to seat four and you want a coupe, go and get an e36 M3. RWD is always better.
Regarding Speedvision races, the cars that were running against the ITR were BMW 328i (all of them), don't get confused with body kits and mirror. Obviously, the M3 mirror helps a lot at high speed. ADDITIONALLY, in the middle of year 1999 the Speedvision race series made a regulation on the intake size of all the BMW's.
I have killed every integra that has raced me with no major effort. Perhaps some ITR owners will say "try mine, try mine!!!". My point is if you are going to buy a 2000 ITR and to expend $5k in mods, men why don't just buy the s2000.
My previous two cars were a '95 M3 and a 01' Celica GTS. The S2000 is faster than the M3 up to 95 MPH, after that is a different history. I strongly recommend a 95-99 E36 M3.
I loved the ITR when it came (1997), but the 2000 version was honda answer to the Celica, and at that time the S2000 was available. ITR is a 15" car, and today a lot of cheap sedans can get that straight line performance.
On the track, Mazda MP3 is the current top FWD car. Period.
Even the new 03 ITR (220HP) is not a match for the S2000, and not a match for the old E36 M3.

I had a 00" ITR, and was able to find quite a few for Sale at www.ITRCA.com also www.teeandvee.com have one for sale !
Hey Bentrim----- now that NJS2K posted.... why not a used 4 door M3? they are a bit pricey... and I would definately want to get a warranty with one, but.... they are just about as quick as an S2000 and probably handle damn well.
I personally have a 1993 Civic si with 140k miles and it SUCKS, but i still have the S2000 to make me smile.
El Lancer Evo VII may be coming within 6-9 months too...

I am currently considering a GTI 337 or an ITR.
If anyone has any leads on any ITRs for sale (preferably MY00-01, but doesnt have to be) I would appreciate a heads up.

Good! You know Who Neal Sapp is. FYI, I know the whole Dupont racing team including Neal Sapp. He does drive a M3. M3 can be in the different class. The class you see with the NSX, Porsche, etc. That's called GT class. they usually average have about 400hp or more.

Now I totally agree with you about the Evo vii. I have driven the evo vii europe version here. It is so fast and the torque can break your neck. I'm thinking to pick one up once they come in oct. (even they did change the intercooler, the hp is going to be 250 hp). you can always mod it.

Car and Driver and Motortrend already had the comparsion for the ITR and Now Celica. and ITR wins in every single category.
You can't really judge the car by the size of the rims. Stock s2000 only comes with 16" you really think that 1" makes a big difference? I don't think so.
I really don't agree that a MP3 is the best FWD track car and will beat a ITR on the track.
