if you don't think he got you in a proper manner, ie POP or something, fight the ticket. otherwise, pay it like the rest of us.

combination of luck and paying attention, i've never had a radar detector either. i just have always seen them before they get me, or i've never been going fast enough when they gunned me for them to bother.

If he used POP to get a quick read on the speed, but did not follow-up with a normal radar hit - you can likely win in court. Pretty sure the manufacturers of the POP guns all specify that POP is only supposed to used as an indicator as when to actually use the regular mode.
