Default Yahoo Email

Why does my email say I have 1 new message, when I don't? If I select all my messages and select mark as "read" the 1 by my inbox goes away, but it comes right back.

Anybody have any experience with this?

This happens to me all the time. I'm no computer whiz but my only guess would be a minor glitch in the code, or something like that. It's just a hassle but not really a problem.

Stupid question here, but have you tried selecting "View -> Unread Messages"? That may yield something for you.

view: unread messages -- shows no messages.

I have 8451 messages... it is a pain to scroll through them to find the new one... I have quickly scrolled and not seen a "bold" new message.

If you're using the newer version of Yahoo! Mail, click on the "info" button (the one with the dark circle with the 'i' in it - just south of the Delete button), and it should pull your unread mail up front.

Most of the time this happens because some mail gets sent out with a stale (or just plain wrong) time stamp, so it shows up in your mailbox up to a year or more late.

I have over 15,000 emails in my hotmail account. Granted I use this as a secondary account (mainly for junk and spam obviously).
