Yet Another 350Z Incident...
hmm.. it looks as if the Z's roof doesnt seem to hold up well when subjected to rollovers.
i was studying the pictures of the first Z last night and here's what i believe happened.
it was raining. the driver was going slow (lack of any substantial road rash scrapes and markings on the roof and the panels). the driver probably didnt have enough time to learn the dynamics of his new car (temp tags), came into a sweeping right hander where the rear end started to loose traction. the car then slid/drifted into the trailing end of a guardrail or divider with the right rear of the vehicle. the car probably got into a short spin then fell over into a ditch ontop of undulated terrain taking the brunt of the hit on its roof.
the damage to the passenger side roof is very disturbing to me. the second set of photo's that wantone shows another car with roof damage in almost the same location and the roof collapsed again.
im sure that any car that rolls and takes the brunt of the impact on the roof would collapse like the Z.. perhaps engineers should develop reinforced roofs by incorporating rollcage type structures underneath the skins of vehicles.
i really hope that the occupants of the vehicles are allright.

Why are these guys trying so hard to turn a coupe into a convertible? They need to put a DISCLAIMER on each of those photos:
"I AM QUITE HAPPY WITH MY ATTEMPT TO CHANGE MY CAR INTO A CONVERTIBLE. YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY!"
