I know I come across differently than how I am, in person I am usually pretty sarcastic and make a lot of "witty" jokes - but those sort of things DON'T work on the net, and a lot of people apparently don't realize that what is sarcasm in person is hurtful in plain text. I've written several paragraph-long replies to a thread, and thought twice before clicking the submit reply button - I'd have 1000+ posts if I always posted what was on my mind. Also, having met a few s2ki members (probably 40 or so) I can attest that many are also a lot different in person - I had written a couple off as complete a-holes, only to find that they were quite nice. Fortunately none of them have been the opposite.
