you know you grew up in the '70s if:
You had a Huffy bike with the curved bar and a banana seat.
You stuck a playing card in your spokes with a clothespin so it would make a noise "like a motorcycle".
You still think of OJ Simpson as a football star.
You got "Alien" cards for goodies on Halloween (that's "Alien" one).
You really, really wanted to see "Conan" or "Porkys", but you were way to young to get in.
You saw "Star Wars" in the theater. And wrote a report on it for your second grade class.
You couldn't wait to see "The Empire Strikes Back", and all the commercials on TV just made it worse.
Your Dad made you get up and change the channel, to one of the other 4 channels you got. And you changed it with a round knob on the TV. To get to one of the 2 UHF channels you got, you had to click over about 20 times.
You played Pong, and thought it was the coolest thing EVER...
...untill Space Invaders came out, and then your $1.00 a week allowance was gone in 5 minutes.
You got "electronic games" like hockey, basketball and soccer, but they were really the same game with a different field drawn on the screen. Football was actually different, though.
The coolest car EVER was a Camaro. Or a Firebird. You argued about this with your friends constantly.
Sunday afternoons on TV were all westerns. In black & white. Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, The Rifleman, etc.
I'm sure I'll think of some more.....

No, I was already out of the Marine Corps by May 1971. It just took me a little longer to find this thread.
I also had a '65 Mustang with the 289 HiPo (271HP version), in 1968. It was much cooler than the others.
