A cyclist, of course, doesn't dress up to blend with the road, doesn't try to look like a car, and isn't telling us to focus intently on a single task while driving....unlike the guy in the bear costume and this commercial in general.

A cyclist, of course, doesn't dress up to blend with the road, doesn't try to look like a car, and isn't telling us to focus intently on a single task while driving....unlike the guy in the bear costume and this commercial in general.
just to make a point more clear:

the point of the ad is to illustrate that if you are not concentrating intently on driving (eating, drinking, talking on the phone, adjusting you radio...watching the ball and not the whole scene, etc etc) you are much more likely to not see everything thats going on.

They did not make the bear so undetectable that you should have missed it.


the ad is simply, brilliant!!!!

They misdirected our focus by inferring that most people somehow couldn't follow the number of passes. When you're driving, you at least are focusing on what's around you enough to stay on the road. The ad is interesting but nowhere near brilliant (in my opinion).

If they said "Watch the players moving around", it'd have been spotted easily, and that's a lot more comparable to what we do on the road. We don't focus on one thing (how many passes by the white team) at all.
