Your choice for the "new" World Trade Center?
I also like the concept of #7, but don't have a good sense of the execution so far. Whatever the final decision, it needs to be distinctly New York in it's execution. To me that means a mixture of history and constant motion forward.
Dynamic would be a good word. That's why I like the idea of green space or maybe an area where sculpture can be displayed and maybe rotate in works from other local artists in some interval.
I also like the idea of there being office space as a truly New York way of giving terrorism the finger and showing that business and life in that amazing city can't be stopped by fanatics.

What is it that you like about #3? For about 3 years back in high school/college I was studying architecture and design (before switching to Business), so I am very intrigued by the proposals for development on the WTC site.
The finalists were announced yesterday. #'s 3 and 6 from the poll were chosen.
#3 is the exoskeleton looking one.

#6 is the insanely tall spire.

I'm pretty disappointed, as I thought these were both shaky. My choices were 5 and 7, but I'd be in favor of 6 as well. 3 *shudder* what a waste of money and space.

I would have liked to see 7 instead of 6. I'm sort of okay (or at least not surprised) with 3, though.
I think 7 would have been very much in fitting with that part of Manhattan. The open space would have allowed for an appropriate monument. This would have allowed the site to not only pay homage to such a horrible event, but would help foster the rebuilding of life in lower Manhattan.

They had their own unique presence about them. Unmistakably New York City.
