Default Your favorite florida vacation destination

I am thinking about taking a trip to Florida in the spring and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of places to visit. My favorite area so far is Sarasota- it has a lot of great restaurants, shopping, beaches, culture, and of course...cars.

Anyone else have a favorite city in Florida? The only places I dont want to go are Orlando/Disney and Panama City.

south beach, stay at the Marriot.. I have never been but am planning a trip there this spring. My friend lives down there and said that is the spot.

A day at the Disney resort is fun too they have good night life on the property there.

I love Sanibel. Not a ton to do (or at least there wasn't when I was there), but it's got great beaches.

Fltsfshr, I'm going to have to disagree w/ you on Key West. I went there a few years back for my b-day & was really disappointed. I thought it was going to be nicer.

I live just down the coast from sanibel in naples florida. I sail all over that area as well

I do enjoy key west, it's our favoirite destination.

I live on those sand beaches you're talking about. Yes Sanibel is a good place to vacation. I can see it in the distance.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good time in Key West. If you ever go again let us show you key west. I first lived there in 1968. Thats the year before buffett. It is truly a magical place.

Spent some time in Fort Walton Beach and thought it was just beautiful. (It's on the Emerald Coast, I believe?)

Miami Beach during the winter was great! Not as crowded and the weather was bearable.

I personally found Fort Walton the more beautful of the two.

I'd look for a place/time that has fewer tourists.

Saab...what kind of things are you looking to do? Beach? Golf? Fishing? I live in Key West, and I tell you, unless you want to 1. Party hard, or 2. Go fishing, don't come to Key West. The beaches are terrible. There are lots of great places to stay, and great places to eat, but for the most part, for tourists Key West is a drinking town with a fishing problem .

I love the keys...but I prefer Islamorada/Marathon. Its a little quieter, and Key West is within easy reach. Love the sunset jetski tours

S.Beach [Miami] is the place to go! It's almost likea another country, with beautiful exotic women, nice beaces, hot bars, and tons of awesome cars!
