But then why wouldn't you go with a staggered wheel set-up in the first place?
small stretch = better steering feel. IMO, a square tire setup makes the steering feel sloppy.

Better put on your flame suit! Stretching tires does make sense the way Alex put it though. If your tire is too wide for the rim then when you turn the sidewall will flex and won't respond as quickly as if you would have had a slight stretch to the tire.

It's all good, people will flame you just for not doing it their way or if you disagree with them with most situations.

only reason im doing 225 245 is because i dont wanna flare my fenders with a 255 in the front. I dont mind having it rolled but dont wanna permanently mod the fender which would be obvious when it goes back to stock.. I also figure with 245 in the back i wont have to run as much camber and i already have brand new 245s on my stock ap2's.

I've got a 255 on a 17x9+45 in the rear, and there is no flare. Just a roll and tab relocate. Looks the exact same with stock wheels on, you can't tell, and I only run -2 camber in the rear, which is practically nothing. I am also just about slammed, only maybe a half finger gap.

It's up to you of course, I just like the way a 255 fills it up back there.
