Been debating if I want to do a BBK on the s2000 but the majority of people I talk to says no need for the brakes since it adds only wait and does NOT improve stopping distance that much?
have you ever felt the weight of the stock calipers? WHOA! they weight more than a house brick.....
I swapped both front and rear for 330mm 4pot AP's and let me tell you the weight was a HUGE reduction plus it would endo on a 6pence

Andy sweet setup bro - I was not aware anyone made BBK for the rear of the s2000....
I know AP makes great brakes but do they come in yellow or any other colors? Do you mind me asking how much these set you back per pair?
thanks,
rick

Going with larger, heavier rotors is what makes a bigger (negative) difference on braking distances. Since the S2000 is rubber/grip limited for braking, it doesn't make a lot of sense to put a BBK on unless you're tracking the car and need the extra heat dissipation. I'll bet a 13" or 14" BBK with some nice lightweight calipers still weighs roughly what the stock setup weighs BUT the BBK has higher rotating inertia. Retaining the stock brake balance is rarely achieved as well.
Would I like a BBK? Sure - it looks good and I rarely need maximum braking power anyways.
Does a BBK usually stop better? Not necessarily. Most testing seems to bear this out with BBKs only really being an asset under repeated, heavy braking (ie, hardcore racing) and even then, they aren't necessarily braking shorter, just lasting longer (due to better heat dissipation). A simple pad and fluid change with SS brake lines will otherwise do the job for everything but dedicated track duty with long races. Check out the "Racing and Competition" forum and you'll see most guys don't use a BBK on the track.
Jonboy, I understand what you are saying but all I can go off is personal experience, I changed the AP's back to stock when I was selling my car & I nearly crashed it on the way home due to the massive & I mean MASSIVE difference in braking!!
Not saying you wrong or right, I'm just telling you what I know from having them on my car
4play, I think AP make them in red as well as black, my kit was pieced together for me in Japan as their is a company out there who has pieced together lots of kits for various cars with either brembo/AP/Alcon etc..... Cost was about
