09 NSX
^ Any idea why Honda creates a groundbreaking, technologically advanced car, then does virtually nothing to update it and sells it as-is for 10 years? At the end of its run, the car is considered dated, and they have to stop making it and start from the ground up developing a new one. Wouldn't it be cheaper and most likely better for Honda to make sports cars like the Corvette? Same design principle, just tweak certain things to keep up with the times.
NSX changes
92 - nothing
93 - added cupholder (woohoo)
94 - more rubber (not a hard DIY mod either)
95 - DBW, Targa top
96 - nothing
97 - 3.2L, 290bhp motor, 6-speed tranny, bigger brakes
98 - nothing
99 - nothing
00 - leather trim interior
01 - nothing
02 - larger exhaust ports, updated suspension, different headlights, wider rear tires, sold only in targa top
03 - nothing
04 - CD changer
05 - nothing
So from 1997 to 2005, there were only 2 major changes (ex. ports and suspension). No wonder by 2005 the car was considered dated. A MY97 with coilovers would do the same thing. Now, if Honda had spent the R&D time updating the NSX during those years, it would still be on sale right now. If you look at the S2000 progression, it's very similar. Major changes in 04, DBW and traction control along with suspension updates in 06, but no power increase, no brake changes, nothing that would make the owner of a MY00 say "I have to have that car." I'm sure the replacements will be amazing cars, and the S2000 and NSX will still be a great car 10 years from now, but I think both Honda and consumers would benefit from serious upgrades to existing chassis.

I like that, let's hope they stick with something like that design and not that "thing" we saw at Detroit.
that NSX concept car was pretty

I wonder how it is going to compete against the new LF-A...I thought I read somewhere that it was putting down some seriously fast times at the Ring..

Oh mighty oracle of Ohio please enlighten us on your wisdom, and stop spending all of your time in your boyfriend's dark void.
I read where they are finished with the powerplant testing and have moved on to chasis and body. Looks like several brands are going after the GT type Ferrari. Lexus LF-A, Nissan GTR, Acura. You guys probably can think if a few more.
