Default Best Intakes

So in my recent purchase of my 02 s2000. I'm looking forward to buying a intake. I want to spend 200 and under. I'm thinking maybe a K&N intake. Just out of what you guys have, I'm looking for something that has a amazing sound. Other than that one more thing what stereo do you guys have that allows you too hook up you IPod/IPhone to the speakers. Thanks, Max 52

As for intakes, look for something used I'd your budget is $200. I just missed a used Comptech for $250, which is the cheapest I've seen for that.

I love my K&N. I've never been a big fan of "cold air" intakes. We get too much water in NE Ohio for me to feel safe using one.

Just because K&N isn't JDM, doesn't mean its bad.

Check prmracing.com, $279 for the S, but above what you want to spend. I liked the sound when I had one, and not a problem with high water.

Im thinking of going with a short ram. not a cold air. Is there any reason why the short ram would be a bad idea/

I would think for $200, that K & N or a used Comptech would be very good value. Unfortunately the only one I have experience with it much more expensive.

As for the radio, I think most people use Alpine, because of their ease of integration with the Apple devices. The big decision here is weather you want to also install amp and speakers. If you just want to change the head unit, find one of the Alpines with some built in power, or get their power boost unit, so you can hear it above the wind noise.

What about an ebay intake? with a different filter? Been considering it lately.
Although just taking the top cover off my OEM intake made a huge difference in sound (I know technically it would result in -hp, but I'm not racing my car ha.

Sweet thanks. I need a head unit that can adjust subwoffers. What is your favorite intake?
