Default Car & Driver article

Just got my new issue in the mail today, cover page article was the 10 best cars that can be purchased for less than $25k, new OR used. Cars included 91-94 NSX, 89-94 911, 01-04 Corvette and E46 M3, among some others. Interesting article.

I saw this too! Good read, I would be very weary about buying a early 90's nsx with high miles (the only ones that are 25k) Or even a 02 m3 with high miles for that kind of cash. Both of those cars are very very pricey for parts/service.

01-04 vette is a solid pickup

Popeye, no Civic SI. Actually, there were only 9 cars, from memory:
New GTI
New MX5
94-97 Supra TT
99-02 Merc E55
91-94 NSX
00-04 Vette
E46 M3
89-94 911
And some gussied-up Dodge Ram pickmeup.

I thought that the S2000 should have been on the list since you can get a very nice one for $25K.

Out of what was on the list, I like the 911, the M3, the NSX, and the Corvette.

s2000 or civic Si would be:

-cheaper to maintain
-more reliable

than probably 2 or 3 cars on that list

The GTI beat the Civic Si in previous tests, so it got the nod for the newer car.
Used, older S2k are probably too low for their price range.....

That was my second choice for a weekend warrior. Actually, I was going to buy a 2000 C5 Corvette until I test drove an S2000....then it was all over.
