Well...I have noticed "LOT's" of people registered for this thing we call Wake the Dragon !!!! Guess it's time to get the Cincy Caravan list started, for "WTD-2009"...As in the past...we will be departing Hooter's Newport, Kentucky somewhere aroun 9,9:30...or 10:00AM ?????? on Thursday Morning 4/23/09( Just when everyone is ready..!!! )
....for those that don't know...or don't remember, Hooter's is located @ 301 Riverboat Row, Newport, Kentucky, 41017....PLEASE.....arrive with a "FULL" tank of gas.....!!!!! We will meet & greet, as in the past...take some pics...etc. When we are ready.... ( set radios for 4.2 !!!! )we will depart. Group-up on the entrance ramp to I-471.....and on the "Flag-Drop" via I-471.....head for I-275, then I-75 South....thru Lexington, and the Gravity Cavity, straight down to Berea Ky, where we will get off the Interstate on the 2nd exit to Berea Rt.-21.....We will fuel-up, eat and mingle a bit...probably meet-up with a few stragglers, and the Central Ky, peeps..as well as some from the Indy area, that may be coming..!!! Re-group..and head for Alcoa/Marysville....!!! I-75 South to the Knoxville area...( MALFUNCTION JUNCTION ) I-75/640/I-275....!!!!!! Take I-275 Straight ahead....( follow the group ) We will stay on I-275 till it dead-ends into I-40...Take I-40 West...till the first exit ( stay in the RIGHT lane....) We will get off @ 129/Alcoa highway...Stay on 129 / Alcoa Highway, till just past McGhee Tyson airport..( can't miss-it, on the right ) just past the Airport, be in the LEFT lane...bear-off on 35 ( to the LEFT ). We will make a STOP...in this area, ( to be determined later ) for GAS, BEER, BOOZE FOOD etc... Be sure to gas-up....Not much available from this point on.....
We will re-group !!!! On the other side of Alcoa/ Marysville, bear to the LEFT...This is Highway 321....Stay on 321 till we arrive @ the Foothills Parkway...RE-GROUP !!!

Now for a LITTLE change, from years past....Some of us are going to head for Gatlinburg, TN...... Most of you will head for the Dragon / Fontana, via the Foothills. We will see you late that night...or in the morning...!!! Have a "SAFE" drive over !!!!and watch for "Ranger Rick"...on the Parkway !!!!!

Those that are going to G-Burg....we will continue on 321, ...to 73 !!! We will take 73, thru the Smokies ( twisties )over the mountain, and in to G-Burg...Shop, have dinner @ the Park Grill !!! ( my favorite ) ...then after awhile, you will be in for a "REAL-TREAT"....We will head-back to Fontana...and you will drive the Dragon @ Night.....

********* If you are leaving from Hooter's with us, just post. I will keep the list current, as possible.....Doesn't matter if you are NOT, going to Gatlinburg. For now all I need to know is if you are coming on the "Cincy-Caravan"....

For those that want to head straight to the Dragon.,.... we will re-group at the entrance to the Foothills Parkway so that you can head to the Dragon while we head to Gatlinburg for some Creme Bruele and Nascar!!!!

Just kidding about the Nascar!!!

 

Well now I'm sure Fred needs to go to the Doctors Alzheimer's has set in. Honey remember me Kimberly(with your 6 kids and 1 grandaughter) you married me back in 1982?? Or is it your covering because its Denny you love now??? Oh Denny Please take don't take him. I still have uses for him.
